Welcome to PCM.
      RacingLine's Plug-In Tuning Solution

2.0 TSI EA888.4 / 300-320PS

Continental turbo - higher output

We get it. Not everyone's ready to tune their car right now. Whether it's because of warranty concerns, your car is leased, or simply that a 40PS boost is enough for now, our PCM could be your perfect answer!

PCM is RacingLine's new tuning solution, developed exclusively for these cars such as Golf mk8 R & GTI CS, Audi S3 8Y, Cupra Leon IV 300, Cupra Formentor 310 and more.

PCM stands for ‘Power Control Module’ and is our way of bringing your new MQB 'EVO' car to life with more power and torque. Easily installed, and easily removed at any time without a trace. And, each PCM comes with a free upgrade to one of our full calibrations whenever you are ready!

How PCM works.

PCM works on a standalone PCB, which communicates with the factory ECU. Developed by RacingLine's own in-house calibration experts over the past 12 months, it allows the car to safely increase power and torque levels.

Of course, we know that many customers will want to have a full ECU calibration as soon as it's available - and who can blame them?

So uniquely, RacingLine will give any PCM customer a free upgrade to our OEM+ calibrations as soon as they are available, whenever you are ready - as long as you purchase your PCM unit from one of our OEM+ dealers.

Let's talk numbers....

Note - factory power outputs for this engine may vary by model dependant on model. But the RacingLine PCM tuned figures apply to all versions.

PCM is all about delivering a transformative power & torque gain, but with no mechanical changes needed. And as the 'area under the curve' in the dyno graph shows all so clearly, it's a night and day difference to the drive.

RacingLine's PCM controller is a great alternative tuning solution for the current MQB 'EVO' cars with the higher output 300/310/320 PS 2.0 TSI 'Continental turbo' engine.
It's all about the 12 months of detailed development that has gone into PCM. The PCM itself is housed in a stunning billet aluminium case, finned to ensure effective cooling plus a beautiful carbon fibre mounting bracket to locate it securely at the front of your engine bay. The full install kit includes a wiring loom made to the perfect length for the MQB 'EVO' cars.
And an instant power boost is only one of the advantages:

We’ve been developing and testing PCM for over a year now. The result?  Increased power and torque, throughout the rev range.

Just three easy connections into the wiring loom, and premade brackets for perfect, simple fitting.

Peak power is never our sole objective. It's all about the 'area under the curve' - a lesson that motorsport has taught us well.

Free software upgrades to OEM+ from RacingLine PCM

The really neat part? Purchase your PCM from an OEM+ dealer, and when our OEM+ calibrations become available, you will get your upgrades for free.

How does RacingLine PCM Tuning Box work for Audi S3, Golf GTI, Golf R?

How PCM operates.

PCM works by using our in-house developed calibration running on our standalone PCB, which communicates in parallel with the factory ECU.

This communication route allows the PCM to safely optimise a variety of electronic sensor signals in real time, interfacing between the engine controls and its sensors. With multiple channels such as charge air pressure, ignition and fuelling controlled by the PCM computer, the result is increased power and torque across the whole powerband of the engine.

We have carried tens of thousands of development miles of rigorous testing on our in-house dyno, on road and on track with numerous calibrations, across multiple cars and different hardware installations, allowing us to find the sweet spot for engine performance, drivability and safety.

Is RacingLine PCM Tuning Box safe for my engine?

Every product that carries the RacingLine logo has been thoroughly track-tested. And PCM is no exception.

Why? Because only in hard track-use can we push the car's engine to the limits, again and again. It's reassuring to know that we've done the hard work so you can get on with enjoying your car!

Hardware Compatible

Right from the outset, PCM has been developed in conjunction with RacingLine's latest Performance Parts range.

Whilst PCM has been developed to work perfectly on an unmodified stock car, it has also been calibrated to self-adapt to take full advantage of any RacingLine upgrades.

So adding a RacingLine intake, air filer or our Turbo Inlet Systems will really let the PCM extract the most from your engine.

Can I use air intake and hardware with RacingLine PCM Tuning Box?
What fuel grade can I use with RacingLine PCM Tuning Box?

What fuel grade can I use?

PCM has been designed to work with different fuel grades around the world, just like factory calibration does. Meaning it's perfectly safe, whatever grade fuel you put in your tank.

However, using a lower fuel grade will result in less power, meaning that a premium octane fuel is always advised.

How does PCM compare to a RacingLine ECU calibration?

We're completely honest about this: the PCM calibration is not as sophisticated as our OEM+ calibrations are.

To keep the car smooth, safe and reliable, PCM's power levels have to be kept lower than our OEM+ Stage 1 calibrations.

But of course, you'll love the power boost you get from PCM, combined with the drivability and efficiency gains. And with our free upgrade program, you can have a free OEM+ calibration as soon as it's available if that's the way you want to go!

Can I install at home?

PCM has a simple installation, providing you have a basic level of mechanical knowledge. The PCM unit sits above the battery, using the provided carbon fibre battery mount and hardware, while the wiring loom is plugged into existing sensors found at the top of the engine.

Or for full peace of mind, all of our approved PCM dealers around the world can also install this for you, subject to labour charges.

RacingLine PCM Tuning Box Fitting Instructions

Is PCM removable?

PCM is completely removable, with no changes to be made to the hardware or software of the original car.

We also include a PCM blanking unit, which plugs into the existing wiring loom and removes the PCM calibration, without having to remove any of the installed hardware.

What's in the kit?

Simple. Everything you need for install, in a kit specifically built for your car, whether fitted with the 2.0 TSI, 2.5 TFSI or 2.0 TDI engine.

As well as the PCM box with its beautiful billet case, a carbon fibre bracket mounts it perfectly on top of the battery. The wiring loom is to the perfect length for your car. Lastly, a deactivation plug is included, should you ever choose to temporarily disconnect your PCM.

Does PCM affect warranty?

It's very clear - any tuning modification on your vehicle can invalidate your manufacturer's engine & powertrain warranty. So if your dealer sees the PCM fitted, then they'd be entitled to reject a warranty claim on the engine or drivetrain.

Of course, PCM is fully removable. With it removed, the car is returned to true stock, but whilst PCM leaves minimal trace to the ECU, it's important to understand that there is no guarantee that this product is warranty safe and is installed at the customers’ own risk.
